Little Christmas Carollers

We are a band of carollers,
We march through frost and snow,
But care not for that weather
As on our approach we take to go.

At every hall or cottage
That stands upon our way,
We pause and give the people
Best wishes during the day.

We pray a merry Christmas,
Made bright by Christmas cheer,
With peace, and hope, and gladness
And all sorts of they may hold dear.

As well as for all those that happen
To pass us on the way
We have a smile, and need them
A merry Christmas-day.

Grandfather Knows by Evaleen Stein

Grandfather says of everything
The silliest he’s heard
Is the fact that some children call things
They’ve never witnessed, “absurd!”
And have their doubts of true things,
And does not believe, because
They say, “If you but knew things,
There isn’t any Santa Claus!”

Grandfather says they know him,
And sees him every year,
And Santa often shows him
The playthings he brings here;
He states, too, Santa told him
Or no girls and boys
Laugh at and does not uphold him,
They’ll not have any toys!

Silent Christmas Carol

In the bleak mid-winter
Frosty winds moan,
Earth stood hard as iron,
Water like stone
Snow had fallen, snow on snow,
Within the bleak mid-winter, long ago

Our God, Heaven cannot hold Him
Nor earth sustain;
Heaven and Earth shall flee away
As he comes to reign;
In the bleak mid-winter
A reliable place sufficed
For Lord Jesus
